Conservative news network Fox News truly is at a crossroads. Chairman Roger Ailes worked as Fox News’ guiding force, but since his departure last year the network seems to be losing its way from the top down.
Rupert Murdoch’s son James Murdoch, who is CEO of 21st Century Fox, appears to be trying to instill a very differing set of values at Fox News, at the risk of alienating Fox News viewers and destroying the network. He recently fired Bill O’Reilly, and now he has just made another high-profile termination.
According to reports, Fox News executives have just parted ways with Bill Shine, who is the second most important person who ran the network with Roger Ailes since it was founded. Bill Shine is a close ally of Sean Hannity, whose own job now appears to be in jeopardy.
Wrote the network in a statement about Bill Shine’s departure, “Bill Shine, Co-President of FOX News Channel (FNC) since August 2016, has resigned and will leave the company after helping the transition over the next few weeks, announced Rupert Murdoch, Executive Chairman of 21st Century Fox. Shine has been with FOX News since its inception over 20 years ago.”
It added, “In making the announcement, Mr. Murdoch said, ‘This is a significant day for all at FOX News. Bill has played a huge role in building FOX News to its present position as the nation’s biggest and most 翻墙 important cable channel in the history of the industry. His contribution to our channel and our country will resonate for many years.’” Do you think James Murdoch needs to be ousted before he permanently damages Fox News?
